Centurion Hotel Hamamatsu

Three of us spent a night in one room. It's fairly close to Hamamatsu station, though there are nearer options. Breakfast came with the stay and was pretty good, with a decent range of choices. The room was clean enough, like a typical Japanese business hotel. The shower wouldn't stay in its mount. Water pressure kept pushing it out and making it fall. Also, as far as I could tell, the Booking.com listing didn't say there'd be an extra ¥1,500 charge to use the sofa bed and have sheets put on it.

I ended up booking here after discovering that the local love hotel I'd booked was god awful and hadn't been advertised as one. The twin-bed room was a bit cramped, but the couch was comfortable and there was a table where I could set up my laptop. WiFi was free, fast, and reliable. The beds were very comfortable, especially if you're used to western mattresses. The bathroom was good, with a big bath and a very hot shower. The lobby has a whole wall of amenities you might need. The staff were amazing and very accommodating. Breakfast was excellent and filling: omelette, meatballs, Vienna sausages, green leaf salad, really good miso, and curry with rice. There's also a free drink machine with soft drinks and various juices. Happy hour runs from 6-8pm with free drinks, including great beer on tap and a choice of liquor. The lemon sour is 25% abv, so be warned. I got drunk on it and sent my friends drunken Snapchat messages. The location worked great for me, with several convenience stores and lots of restaurants nearby. I'd recommend Matsui, a ramen restaurant about a 15 minute walk away. The hotel is a short 10 minute walk from the train station, so getting to the Shinkansen was easy. Fantastic place from top to bottom. If I visit Hamamatsu again, I'll stay here.

The rooms were very clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful with excellent service. You can buy breakfast for 1000 yen, and it's well worth it.

The hotel has standard facilities and service, and the room was clean and nice. You can walk to Hamamatsu station in around 10 minutes, and the food area is also about a 10-minute walk from the hotel.
