Takeshi and his wife made us feel so welcome, and their dog Umeboshi was adorable. Dinner and breakfast were both included in the rate and were incredible. I came for two nights to see Hamanaka Town and its Lupin III connection, and I'd happily come back soon.

I had a really enjoyable stay and found the accommodation very nice. One thing to know is that the dorms are separated by gender, although the website doesn't clearly mention this.

The couple who own the place are warm and friendly, and we really liked the home-cooked breakfast. It's clean, too. I'd recommend staying here to a friend.

A pleasant Japanese couple run this small ryokan guesthouse by the sea. Nice spot.

I've been ordering the kelp they harvest here ever since my stay, ten years ago. It makes a really tasty dashi. I use the inquiry form on their website to ask what's available, and they usually reply the next morning so I can place an order. Just watch your spam folder if the reply comes through Gmail. I'm thankful they make such safe, delicious ingredients. As of October 2025, a bag of the thick-leaved long kelp, about 240g, costs 1,200 yen before shipping.
