Wyndham Garden Sapporo Odori

The breakfast has lots of choices, from bread and Korean dishes to yogurt, porridge, rice, and a special beef option. They also serve baked sliced fish, and the menu changes from day to day. Save room for the matcha desserts. Our room had a sofa and two separate beds, either twin or single, and came with a full set of amenities: shower gel, shampoo, conditioner from a well-known local brand, toothbrushes, a comb, shaving items, and pajamas. The pajamas were especially comfortable. Coffee and tea were provided in the room, and reception can give you more if you ask. The hotel is close to Odori park, near the Sapporo Snow Festival, and about a 15-minute walk from Sapporo Station, where you can catch trains to asahikawa and airport Chitose. I loved staying here and would recommend it in Sapporo.

Ms Han, who speaks Mandarin, went out of her way to help us book the shuttle to Kokusai Ski resort over the phone. When the return bus was fully booked, she also recommended a driver to take us back. Without her help, we wouldn’t have made it there. The staff were friendly, and we came away with a very good impression of the hotel. We’d definitely stay again when we return. My husband and I spent seven nights here. The room was very clean and just right for two people. Sleepwear was provided, and the location is close to Tanukikoji and a 7-11 convenience store. Breakfast was good enough to get the day started. We took the airport limousine for ¥1300 per person. It stopped at Hotel Resol Trinity, about a 10-minute walk away, which was convenient because we didn’t have to drag our luggage through the train station. On the way back to the airport, the bus stop was closer, about five minutes away across from Hotel Abest.

The hotel is in a good location, and breakfast was just okay. There weren’t really vegan choices beyond frozen boiled vegetables with separate dressings. The rice was terrible, and bread and croissants made up most of the meal. There were two soups that I liked, plus a variety of ham and chicken. The coffee cafe is good. It was an okay stay, but not a great one.

The room was a highlight: spotless, modern, and nicely designed. At night it stayed dark and quiet, with blackout curtains and good soundproofing, so I slept really well after long days of walking. I had a very comfortable stay at Wyndham Odori. The location is ideal, just minutes on foot from Odori Station, and the underground walkway gives easy access. In snowy weather, being able to reach the hotel without going out into the cold is a real plus, and it makes getting around Sapporo easy.
