The bath was great, and we could lock the door for privacy while using it. Our room was great too, with a private 1/2 bath. It's away from the busy main streets, which meant a less crowded way of enjoying Otorii. Breakfast was awesome as well.

The meals were included on both days, and the food was spectacular, with lots of variety and careful preparation. The shared bathing rooms downstairs were also spotless and a real pleasure to use. There are two, both lockable for privacy, one with a single shower and bath, the other with a pair. We had a bright, quiet, perfectly clean room with very comfortable Japanese-style beds, plus a private toilet and sink. The staff were welcoming. The place is an easy 5-10 minute walk from the main sights, but tucked away from the crowds. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

Breakfast was a wonderful Japanese spread, more food than I could imagine. The room was modern, spacious, and comfortable, with a toilet and sink inside. The shower and bath are shared but private when in use, in two lockable rooms, each with its own shower and bath. I had no trouble washing and using the onsen around 1800, but when I came back around 2200 there was a line, so it may get busy. In the morning, there are showers only. The place is a little away from the loud tourist center but close to the scenery, with plenty of good food nearby. It's about a five-minute walk to the shrine gate and a 20-minute walk back to the ferry pier.

The homemade breakfast was incredible, beautifully arranged with more than 10 little bites of all kinds of food. We had the Western-style breakfast, included in the price, though they also offer a Japanese-style one. The owner kept our bags while we visited the temple that had been closed the night before, then called us a taxi to the ferry. What an experience that was. This was our first visit to Miyajima Island. The hotel is off the main path but only about a five-minute walk from the Grand Tori Gate and Shrine, with the rest of town close by. The service was top notch. Our beautiful room had two futon beds on tatami floors, plus a private toilet and sink. There are two shared onsens on the second floor, each with two showers and two tubs behind locking doors. We had no trouble getting in. We'll definitely come back, and next time stay for two nights instead of one.
