Full House Miyajima

The host was nice, but the place was dirty and full of bugs. The bathroom was disgusting, the kitchen had stuff everywhere, and the beds were even worse. There was no AC in the bedroom. For your own well-being, don't come here.

I asked politely whether canceling might be possible, knowing I was past the deadline and prepared to accept a no. I explained that I'd just recovered from a virus, had been to the hospital, and was still tired and might be contagious. The staff's first response felt passive aggressive, then became outright aggressive. The hostility made me too uncomfortable to go, even though I still had to pay. As a permanent resident used to Japan's high standards of hospitality, this was the worst customer service I've experienced here. Truly unacceptable.

I made an error in my booking and asked the next day if I could change the dates. They refused everything and made no effort, even though I could see rooms were available for the new dates on booking. They also refused any partial refund, of course. They just seem to be grabbing money and aren't friendly at all. Go somewhere else.

Miajima was great, and the house sits on a hillside overlooking it. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. For the price, you're getting a room in Yo's home. The bed futons were thin, but we slept well, and it was quiet even with the windows open. There was clutter everywhere, including plants and pictures. It felt overwhelming and gave the place a strange vibe. Guests can use the kitchen.
