We stayed here for the autumn Takayama festival because it was the only accommodation we could find in the area. We hadn’t expected to love it so much. The owner was kind and generous and looked after us really well. Breakfast was included, very good, and filling. It’s just outside a quiet country town above a lovely valley. There were frequent enough buses to and from Takayama, with great scenery along the way. The host made sure we knew when and where to catch the bus, just across the street. We’d definitely stay again. Thank you for your hospitality!

The owners were so friendly, even giving us a ride and a quick tour of the neighboring village. I’ll never forget them and hope I get another chance to visit their beautiful establishment. The place was very clean and tidy, with a hearty traditional Japanese breakfast. A lovely way to experience Japanese hospitality and ryokan life.

A really nice, homely place. The futon was extremely comfortable and warm, and breakfast at 1000 yen per person was absolutely worth it. The owner can speak English too!

This family-run Ryokan is close to the ski hill and only about a 50-minute drive from Takayama. We stayed a couple of days for the Takayama Spring Festival, and Lady Yumiko was always cheerful, friendly, and eager to help. She prepared the bath for us every day and had a full breakfast ready at 7:30 each morning. We loved the atmosphere, the spacious room, the good heating, and the comfortable bed. I’ll remember this as a highlight of our trip.
