Kaiza

The friendly host provided excellent service and hospitality. It’s one of the most peaceful, well-run places I’ve stayed in Okinawa.

Shota welcomed us and helped us explore all sides of the island. The care we received felt even better than at a five-star hotel, and we felt right at home. Kaiza itself is beautifully furnished, spotless, and kept in excellent condition. We loved its natural setting, with lovely plants and harmless insects and geckos around. I’d recommend it to anyone wanting to experience the island’s nature, away from Naha’s big hotels and bustle. An unforgettable stay!

If you’re hoping for bars, markets, lots of tourists, or beach entertainment, this isn’t the part of the island for you. It’s a quiet place to read, take in the views, explore the rich nature, swim at a white-sand island beach, and enjoy a good dinner. There are some lovely restaurants nearby, with views over the sea or forest. Kaiza is set on a hill in the forest, near the sea. The building rises above the trees, with an amazing sea view out front and a garden at the back that gives way to jungle. The rooms keep things simple but have what you need, including good beds, towels, water, air conditioning, outlets, and cozy lighting. There’s no TV or other city-hotel electronics, which helped me settle in and enjoy the surroundings. Breakfast was tasty and beautifully presented, served right at 8 am. There’s also a bath and shower you can use privately in the evening. The other shower and two toilets are shared among the four bedrooms. We were alone during our stay, so had the whole place to ourselves. Two hammocks in the garden were another lovely way to relax.
