There’s thoughtful detail everywhere, from the well supplied kitchen and laundry room to the shower. The all-in-one washer and dryer even has a touchscreen. The house is also a lot of fun, with great decor and handy tech: plenty of USB charging, a strong Bluetooth speaker setup, binoculars and a telescope for the stars. Our toddler loved the toys, games, tents, and beds. You can take gear from the storage shed for outdoor and water activities, and there are two four-wheelers to ride around on, which was so fun. The host clearly put a lot of thought into the place. It’s quiet and private, tucked inside a national park, so it made a refreshing escape. The view is among the best in Okinawa. We loved eating on the front deck with the ocean waves and fresh mountain air, and several rooms inside have wide views of the water.

The kids spent ages drawing and making art, while the adults had a blast with the BBQ and quad bikes. The H/K speaker was great for evening music, and the owner even left two JBL speakers for outside. There’s so much here I could write for hours. You really have to experience it! The house has everything you could imagine and more, with beautiful scenery and a night sky full of stars. It felt like a real escape from the city. If we’d known, we would have stayed longer!

I’ve been to Okinawa many times and stayed in dozens of places, but this has become my favorite. It depends on what you’re after, of course, but for me it’s the best. I couldn’t decide whether to book two or three nights, and since I didn’t know much about it, I went with two and regretted it lol. Even three nights wouldn’t have felt like enough. We’re expecting our third child, so I hope to come back once things settle down. It’s rare to find somewhere you want to return to even when you visit the same place again, but I definitely want to stay here another time.
