Hotel Katara Resort&Spa

The room was okay and had a very nice view, but it was self-service, and we had to make our own futons. There was no English help. The area felt depressed, with nothing open in the evening and nothing to do. The hotels, karaoke, game room, and other entertainment were all closed. It felt very unfriendly to customers, and I wouldn’t recommend staying here. I was very disappointed with the food. The decor was strange and very old, the heated pools were only lukewarm, and the jungle theme looked sad. To me, this seemed like a place for young families with little kids to kill time. The other reviews are incredibly inaccurate, so beware.

It’s a little old, but well cared for, and every room has an ocean view. The evening and morning buffets were lovely, with plenty of fresh dishes. The massage service was good and affordable too. I recommend checking out the onsen and swimming pool, both of which are very nice.

Everything indoors was clean, and the onsen were nice and had plenty of grooming supplies. The outdoor onsen was great. The buffet had delicious Japanese and Western food. My one frustration was the fitness room, which cost an extra ¥1080 for two hours.

The rooms were clean, and the kids could play in the pool as much as they wanted. But the bar closed by 8 pm, and they promote hammocks made with alligator and tiger skins. Sorry, they won’t get my money a second time.
