Business Green Hotel Youkaichi

The room was spacious, and the staff were helpful. The location isn't ideal, though we knew that before checking in. Having a supermarket and 100yen shop across the road was great. Breakfast was okay, and the coffee was better than I expected. The WIFI kept cutting out, and I couldn't find a LAN internet connection for my laptop.

It's hard to know what to make of this hotel, lol. The price made me feel satisfied, but looking past that, there are several shortcomings. The rooms have the feel of old-style business hotels, which can be a plus, but I may have drawn a bad room. The bidet only worked sometimes, depending on how I sat, and the outlets were awkward to use, so charging my smartphone was a hassle. There is just one large public bath, with men and women taking turns. I wondered whether women could use it after the men were done. At breakfast, although it's called a buffet, everything is in small bowls. I wanted to have more, but felt awkward taking too much. It has the feel of a Showa-era business hotel, for better or worse. People who are comfortable with that probably won't mind, while others may not like it. Given the price, I do feel it's unfair to complain.

There's a MaxValu supermarket and conveyor belt sushi nearby, and FamilyMart is about a five-minute walk away. The facilities are dated, though the rooms are fairly spacious. I was let down by the public bath, but the sauna was good.

The room's shampoo and body soap bottles looked so alike that I couldn't tell which was which, even by their smell or texture. Breakfast, on the other hand, was homemade, tasty, and offered plenty of different items.
