The place was a big yikes, and way overpriced for Japan, at least through third-party sites. We never got check-in instructions, and the key was sitting in an unlocked lockbox. Even the booking website couldn't reach the host. Inside, there were spiders, dust, what might have been mouse droppings, mold in the shower, and a broken shower setup with no higher mount, so you could only shower squatting. The mattress springs were painful, and there was other people's hair on the floors and appliances.

The price and Taiwanese habits made this a real letdown. Don't trust the Booking.com reviews too much. The entry light didn't work, and there was no heat in either the kitchen or bathroom. The parking space by the door only fits small cars. Also, if something's hidden behind curtains, it points to a problem.
