Taga Station Hotel

251111 The room was a little small, about what you’d expect in a business hotel, but the hooks for hangers and the shoehorn were placed thoughtfully, and there were more outlets than I’ve found in other hotels. Breakfast comes on a tray in the first-floor restaurant. You can’t choose the dishes, but it’s a standard spread and was fine for me. I appreciated being able to get my receipt after check-in and payment, especially with an early checkout and a busy morning. The hotel is right by the station entrance, which is very convenient. The building is a bit old, though clean. I didn’t realize the key was a turn-type rather than an automatic lock, and ended up sleeping all night with the door unlocked. You have to pick up amenities beside the front desk yourself, except for toothbrushes. I’d stay here again.

I booked knowing the hotel was old, but finding pubic hair in the bathroom made me uncomfortable and lowered my rating. If it had just been hair, I might have thought it fell there during cleaning. To me, pubic hair suggests the cleaning was neglected. The location is convenient, right in front of a station where express trains stop. I would have considered staying again despite the age if the place had been well maintained, but I don’t think I’ll return.

It’s definitely an old, small hotel, but the price and service are reasonable. There are quite a few restaurants nearby, and I had a decent stay.

The staff were very friendly, and the hotel’s right in front of Hitachitaga Station, which makes it a convenient base for sightseeing. I’d recommend it if you’re in the Ibaraki prefecture area. The unit bath is a little small 😅, but the bed is really nice ^_^. I think it works well for a solo stay.
