The pictures on booking.com make this place look misleadingly good. To me, it felt like the bronx.

The website photos fooled me. The place was in such bad shape that I wondered if anyone cleaned it, and the pool and onsen they advertise couldn't be used. It even felt like somebody had died there. For those conditions, the price was far too high. Worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Don't stay there, for your own sake.

For what we paid, the free bikes and shuttle to and from hikone station are a lot to appreciate. The room was a little dated, but it had what we needed: a bed, shower, and toilet. Can't ask for more at that price.

It's a strange setup. The place looks abandoned and shut, though the reception is open and some windows are lit, so I couldn't make sense of it. A restaurant has just opened downstairs, and behind it there's a guesthouse or hotel that I'm not sure is connected. Weird.
