There are plenty of nearby places to eat, including restaurants and izakayas, and a 7-Eleven is close too. The hotel is near the Nagarekawa bar district and the Yakenbori red-light district, as well as Alpark, though it can be a little hard to find. It's old, but inexpensive for a hotel in the heart of the entertainment district. They also give you a complimentary bottle of water or tea at check-in, which was a nice touch.
I was there for three nights on a work trip. It's handy for walking to the International Conference Center and also close to downtown. When I asked the front desk about okonomiyaki restaurants, they gave me lots of useful suggestions, though friendliness seemed to depend on which staff member was on. The rooms feel dated, but nothing was especially broken. There are lots of items from the days when Japanese electrical appliances had a large market share, which gave the place a nostalgic feel. Are those telephones antiques?
The room felt a bit old, but it had been cleaned well. I found a hair on the bed, though, and the clock by the pillow showed the wrong time. The hallway conversations carried through, and the bins had no trash bags, so you may want to bring your own. There were lots of outlets, and connecting my FireTV was easy. I booked in a hurry on a Hiroshima work trip after the hotel my company arranged wasn't very good. With a Jalan coupon and points, I paid 6,400 yen, a good deal since same-day booking would normally be over 10,000 yen. The front desk staff were very courteous and changed my booking from a smoking room to a non-smoking one, even though that was all I could select when I booked. The room phone was an old-fashioned rotary type, which surprised me.
I've stayed here 5-6 times. It's a little old, but a typical business hotel. Very close to Hondori and Okonomimura, with buses and trams going in every direction easy to reach. I also stayed here back when it was called Hotel Kameman.
