HOTEL CLA-SS HIROSHIMA - Dobashi

We were pleasantly surprised by this stay, which exceeded our expectations, and we’d definitely return when visiting Hiroshima. The boutique hotel has four units in total. Our room was spacious for 3-4 guests, with two semi-double beds, a small living room with a Japanese style mat and mini-sofa, and a roomy bathroom. Everything was very clean. The wifi was fast enough for US sites, work, and Zoom calls. There’s no on-site staff, but they respond quickly through electronic communication and were very accommodating. It’s a quick 5-7 minute walk from the street car stop and several convenience stores like Family Mart. The street car goes to all the popular sights and areas.

The location was lovely, by the river and a tram line that reaches all the places. The beds and pillows were comfortable, and having an outside balcony was nice. The bathroom was really good and had a good hairdryer. The cleaning staff were friendly. I had a Booking. Com issue and needed to call; the person was super helpful even though it was early morning. I can speak Japanese, though, so without that it would have been extremely difficult. There wasn’t enough room to lay the suitcases fully flat. The projector was very hard to figure out, the instructions in the book weren’t clear enough, especially in English, and I had to watch a YouTube video. I still couldn’t connect a USB. The kitchen draw wouldn’t close properly because the magnet needs replacing, a small but inconvenient thing. There’s no washing machine yet, despite so much space for drying things. You can hear upstairs easily, and we had noisy neighbours, which hurt the relaxing feel. It’s not the hotel’s fault, but if you stay upstairs, please be mindful. It’s quiet at night, and the room is clean and comfortable. The location is good, close to street car stops, with an excellent nearby Fuji fresh food supermarket. There’s no lift to the 2nd level.

A quiet neighbourhood, with the hotel on a direct tram line into the city centre and to Miyajima Ferry. Fuji shopping mart is only a two-minute walk away. The hotel is very new, modern, and stylish, and has everything you need for a quick tourist stopover. It’s close to central Hiroshima without being too close.
