Hotel Cla-ss Hiroshima-Ozu

The service is very good, and the rooms are cleaned every 2 days. It’s a nice, large hotel in Naha, but a bit far from the beaches, so you’ll need to rent a car to get around the main island or be ready to pay for taxis. The gym could use more machines. I only saw one besides the cardio equipment. The pools are decent but a little small, more for children than anything else. It would be better to have one for kids and another, larger and deeper pool.

The place is very clean and well kept, and the laundry is both efficient and spotless. Booking and check-in rely heavily on tech, with several passport uploads and codes to enter. Once you get past that, it’s a well-maintained facility.

I expected all kinds of trouble checking into a contactless hotel, but everything went smoothly. It’s away from the busy parts of the city, which is nice, though you can get around everywhere on foot or by tram. There aren’t many businesses nearby, but what’s there was enough for me. The kitchen is good too. My stay was only two days, and I never got a chance to cook, but it would have been great.

We booked for November, and the trip from Brasil to Japan is a long one. Sixteen days before check-in, I broke my foot and my wife came down with Covid. Even after I sent documents supporting both health issues, including X-rays and lab tests, the hotel refused to waive the room charge. They were sold out, but this was a cancellation for serious medical reasons.
