We had a park view, which was pretty amazing, and the location made it easy to walk to the park whenever we wanted. Restaurants were easy to reach, so finding food wasn't a problem. The trams and bus station were accessible too. The room was small and cozy, but comfortable. I was impressed by how many complimentary personal care products there were. Some felt so exquisite, I wish they were for sale.
The rooms were really clean, and the location was great. The towels were tiny, though, and reminded me of motel rooms in Australia in the 80s. We got one flimsy bath towel, and another one cost extra. There weren't many amenities either.
The bed was comfortable, but I was given only a tiny pillow. There was a kettle but no tea or coffee in the room. The room also smelled unpleasant, maybe from some cheap, horrible air freshener. And this was the first hotel I'd come across where you couldn't book a taxi.
My room was spotless, and I had a lovely view. The bathroom was quite small, but I'm small too, so it was fine for showering. The front desk staff were great, and the dining staff were lovely as well. Breakfast was a delicious Japanese buffet at a good price. The museum and dome are very close, and it's an easy streetcar ride to the JR line station.
Being close to the Atomic Bomb Dome and Peace Park is a big plus, and there's also a ferry service nearby for Miyajima. It's a great base for exploring Hiroshima. The rooms are surprisingly spacious compared with other places I've stayed in Japan. 2025 update: I still feel the same. It's a great place to stay.
