The bathhouse uses natural wood throughout, which makes the large public bath feel especially calming. From there, you can look out at the scenery as it changes through the seasons. There’s also an open-air bath beside the clear Minauchi River in Yuki Town, where you can take in the surrounding nature and relax at your own pace.
We were a family of four, and the ryokan made our two-night stay a really special way to experience Japanese culture. The tatami room, tea service, robes, and many courses of Japanese food all added to it, and the onsen left us feeling great. The hotel also arranged a taxi to Sandankyo gorge for an afternoon hike, which was definitely worthwhile. Bring food along, since places near the trail were closed, at least on a Friday.
There’s a good selection of souvenir shops and restaurants nearby, and I had a very relaxing time. The hot spring costs 750 yen per adult, with both a sauna and an open-air bath among the facilities. I didn’t stay overnight this time, but I’d like to spend longer here on another visit.
After a swim in the nearby stream, I went to the onsen to wash up and soak. It felt perfect, you know? Dinner at the restaurant was delicious too, especially the hamburger made with forest pig meat. The staff were polite as usual. A nice place for a weekend or holiday.
Favorite🔖 place！ I can relax here without worrying too much about the cost, since the price is affordable. The place is clean, well ventilated, and has a nice view. They also let people with tattoos in, so you can enjoy the visit without covering up your marks. A lot of places don’t allow tattoos, which is one of the things I appreciate about this one.
