Super Hotel Hiroshima

The breakfast buffet and drink bar were a real bonus. The location also made it easy to get to the main attractions, convenience stores and a nearby mall, and a very famous momiji manju shop is just around the corner. It was a calm, comfortable stay, with clean rooms, warm hospitality and a quiet atmosphere that made my trip more enjoyable. Simple, but memorable.

We paid £50 for one night for two people, and I was very satisfied with the choice. The breakfasts were amazing, with lots of tasty options. The room was comfortable and had a big TV, and we also had laundry and all the comforts we needed. They offer a free open bar until 9pm and provide five items for the night, things like body cream, body oil and razors. Really a super hotel, very comfy, with lots of nice services.

After a month travelling around Japan, this hotel had the best staff service we experienced, and some of the best amenities too, all at a very affordable price. They welcomed us so warmly after a long day on the road. You can choose your own pillow, but do it early because they run out by evening. Our room was small but had everything a couple needed for a restful stay, and it was clean and smelled fresh. Breakfast was hot, fresh and delicious, free drinks were available in the lobby in the evenings, and the laundry was cheap and easy to use. The room TVs are smart TVs, so foreign guests can watch YouTube or Netflix in their own language. Reception also has free rental bikes. There’s a shopping center nearby for food and supplies, and transportation around the city is close. In fact, it’s not a long walk to get around either. I’d wholeheartedly recommend it.

The included breakfast was worth the price, served in a well-appointed restaurant with plenty of seating in the lobby. We were on the 16th floor, which made me nervous because of earthquakes; I’m pretty sure there was a mild one one night. It was just the two of us, no children. We booked on a whim for a quick visit to Hiroshima and Miyajima. The hotel is in a fairly quiet part of town, about 12 minutes from the Atomic Bomb Dome and Museum. Across the street there’s a side area that looks like it hosts a market every week in spring and summer, with plenty to see and do. We walked everywhere, and the main Hiroshima station was a quick light rail ride away for Y200. The hotel is dated but adequate for what we needed. The room was small and dated too. We’re not big people, but anyone with huge luggage might struggle unless the hotel can store it elsewhere.
