For a relaxing weekend at this half-board hotel in Hita, I’d suggest staying two nights. There are private and public indoor and rooftop outdoor onsens, and it’s about an hour’s drive from Fukuoka. Yufuin and Beppu are each around an hour away, so you can visit both while you’re here.

It’s a traditional Japanese-style room, and the service was thoughtful, even anticipating what a guest might need when making the bed. The bathroom was tiny, which took away a little from an otherwise great experience. I’d definitely come back if I get the chance.
