We booked at the last minute and didn’t get there until after 10 PM, but the welcome was still warm. We got to choose a yukata from a colorful selection and were shown the Onsen, which stays open until midnight. Our room was spacious and comfortable. There was a little coffee set with different roasted beans to choose from, which you could grind and brew in the room. The nearby temple is worth a look, but what we liked most was the friendly atmosphere and feel of the hotel.

The food and service get five stars from me. Room facilities are a four: big ocean-view windows and a massage chair, but nothing too special. The Onsen gets three. There were just two baths, one inside and one outside. The outdoor one has a sea view, which is nice, though it’s rather small. Everything feels old, so it’s not a fancy place. The shrine next door is a must-do, though. I’d come for a night or two, no longer.

The breakfast was a great buffet, including local appetizers, and you can pick a Yukata from lots of colors and designs. The outdoor Onsen was especially good, so do give it a try. The hotel may look old and unstylish, but some rooms have been renovated and are really clean and modern. Mine had a beautiful ocean view, beds, Japanese-style Tatame carpet, and its own shower and toilet. A great place. Drive up and enjoy!

Every room faces the Pacific Ocean, and you can watch the sunrise from bed. The food is good, the price is reasonable, and the staff are very attentive.
