Simple Sleep

Really nice!

In the middle of summer it was still cool and quiet, so I had a comfortable stay. The room had a TV, air conditioning and a bed, plus a lockable drawer underneath. The shower, washing machine and air conditioning were free, and the amenities were enough for a male guest. A locked door separates the hallway to the rooms, but the room itself doesn't lock. I stayed on a weekday. Getting here isn't easy, though it suited my trip from Kumamoto to Kagoshima. I tried to walk to a convenience store late at night, but gave up because there were no streetlights nearby and it was about 15 minutes each way.

The cabin-style room was clean and gave me privacy, which made the bad mattress all the more disappointing. I was in room 4, where it was so deeply sunken that I couldn't sleep properly. How had nobody noticed? Maybe it's only a problem with that room. There weren't any restaurants nearby, which is why I gave this rating.

I was only after an inexpensive private room, and the set price means you can stay cheaply whenever there's a vacancy. The shared toilet and shower room are both clean, the sink shines, and the bath towels are fluffy. The amenities are like what you'd get at a business hotel. Highly recommended. The weak soundproofing is a downside. You need headphones to watch TV. There were no other guests on my floor when I stayed, but if someone in the next room snores loudly, you can get earplugs.
