Richmond Hotel Yokohama Ekimae

For the price, it was well worth it. The room had plenty of space for our family and luggage, and there are useful facilities like a laundromat and microwave. I was pleasantly surprised to find an ice machine, too. It's close to the station, with restaurants easy to find nearby. One of the best 3-star hotels I've stayed in.

The free drip coffee from the lobby was so good that we had it every morning, and there are lots of amenities there as well. Our room was clean and had enough space for three people. Staff spoke English and were thoughtful and helpful. Yokohama station's N. west exit is less than five minutes away, with convenience stores, restaurants, and bars nearby.

The rooms are comfortable and very spacious by Japanese standards. The facilities feel modern, efficient, and thoughtfully arranged. It's also right beside Yokohama station, so even with a lot of luggage there's not much walking.

The biggest drawback for me was the compact room. The single room especially felt tight, and opening even one large suitcase took some maneuvering. Still, this is a good value option if you want a convenient base for Yokohama and easy access to Tokyo, and don't mind smaller rooms. Yokohama's main station is only about a five-minute walk away, and Tokyo is a 20-30 minute train ride. The surrounding area has lots of eateries and pubs, though many close around 10-11 pm, so that may matter if you're out late. It's a nice choice if you'd rather stay somewhere a bit quieter than central Tokyo.
