Business Hotel Honjo

The exterior looks old enough to put you off, but the breakfast buffet was a nice surprise. Guests can get it for 500 yen, and there's a good range of food. They also provide bath salts and bottled water for free. I needed a room at short notice after drinking and not being able to get home. The shower pressure was great, and the room stayed warm without the air conditioning, even though snow was expected the next day. I'm not sure when I'll be back, but I'd like to stay here again.

We slept well because the room was quiet at night and the bed was comfortable, so we could properly recover from being tired. It was simple but had the amenities we needed. The location was convenient too, with restaurants and convenience stores nearby. We stayed as a family and found the building's atmosphere calming. The guest rooms and interior were clean, and the staff were polite. Check-in directions were easy to follow and reassuring. For the price, it seems good value, and I think it works well for business trips or short stays.

The room lighting was the one thing that bothered me. Even with indirect lighting, it felt dim, so I kept the curtains wide open. Otherwise, for a Saturday night into Sunday in the 6,000 yen range with breakfast, I thought it was great value. The buffet cost 500 yen, ran from 6:30 to 8:20 AM, and had a decent amount of seating and quick turnover. There's a big TV, and I ate while watching NHK. I was in a non-smoking single. The building is old and the unit bathroom is small, as other reviews say, but it didn't bother me much. The room itself was spacious, and the TV was large, with BS, YouTube, and Netflix. It came with room clothes, a toothbrush, instant coffee, and bottled water. By the front desk there's also an amenity buffet with bath salts, face masks, and other things to take as needed.

The place is cheap, so the small toilet and older facilities didn't bother me much. What was disappointing was how clearly I could hear noise from the next room. The rooms were cleaned thoroughly, and the front desk service felt like a first-class hotel. There are about three free laundry machines in the building outside the rooms. Breakfast buffet was 500 yen, and 5G was available.
