Nice hotel near the beach, geared toward surfers. There’s a station behind the building for rinsing boards and wetsuits. Ask for a room with an ocean view. Breakfast and dinner are available on site for an extra charge, and you can request Japanese or Western meals.

It’s a quiet place near the surf beach, though there isn’t much else around. I was upgraded to a large studio with lots of room to myself. The restaurant was excellent, especially the impressive dinner set. I’m guessing the owners are the cooks. The staff were lovely, attentive, and easy to talk to. Everything was exceptionally clean throughout the hotel, and the installations seemed brand new or recently renovated. The furniture also felt carefully chosen, rather than like the usual hotel furnishings.

A really nice bath and a clean room made for a great stay. It’s ideally placed for surfing, right by the sea, and they have surfboard storage plus a spot out back to hang wetsuits or swimming costumes. Very helpful.

Of the 12 hotels I visited in Japan this month, this had the best Japanese-style food. Strongly recommend trying dinner.

It was a pleasant hotel with a sea view, and seemed to be popular with business travelers. The stay was reasonably priced: the meals didn’t use expensive ingredients, but portions were generous enough and the quality was good.
