HOTEL R9 Premium Ichikawaekimae

The staff were really rude and often absent from the front desk. More than once, I saw staff smoking right outside the entrance, so getting into the building meant walking through a cloud of cigarette smoke. After checkout, they wouldn't hold my luggage even for half an hour. Absolutely hideous hotel.

The room was so cramped and badly laid out that I could hardly move. The hotel is also far from central Tokyo, with several unsavory, red-light-style businesses nearby. Staff were rarely around, and when they were, they barely spoke English or even Japanese. Disgusting in every way, and the worst hotel I've stayed at.

The bed and sheets were uncomfortable, the shower didn't work properly, and the drains were blocked. The equipment throughout the hotel felt extremely cheap and poorly made, and service was unbelievably bad in every way. I stayed for a week, and booking without seeing the place first was my biggest hotel mistake. The lobby was so tiny that more than a couple of people could barely move around. Staff were hardly ever at reception, which made it difficult to ask for what I needed. I was especially shocked when they refused to hold my bags for 10 minutes after checkout, saying it was against hotel policy. A shocking experience.

The rooms are incredibly small, the lobby is almost nonexistent, and there were hardly ever any staff around when I needed something. They also charged extra for cleaning and towels. The area is very boring, and getting to central Tokyo is a real hassle. I strongly recommend against staying here. I wish I could give it zero stars.
