Family Lodge Hatagoya Iga

The room was spacious, and I really enjoyed the croissants at breakfast. Getting there after leaving Iga Interchange on the Meihan Expressway was a little frightening: the tunnel is narrow, and it was pitch dark around there. On my December 2025 stay, the morning temperature was close to 0 degrees and my car windshield froze.

I stayed two nights and found both the front desk and my room clean. The staff were polite, kind, and easy to talk with. There’s a hot spring facility just a short drive away, which made the location convenient for me. I’d stay here again if I get the chance.

I stayed here again last year. It works well for arriving late at night or leaving early in the morning. In November it gets cold, and the sheets feel chilly. There’s a Lawson and Family Mart nearby, but no drugstores, so it may be best to pick up diapers or medicine in case of need ahead of time.

I was working in Shiga Prefecture and couldn’t find a room because of the National Sports Festival, so I ended up staying here. The twin room had a separate bath and toilet and felt roomy and relaxing. For food, I drove about 3-5 minutes to a supermarket or convenience store. It’s a quiet area, and Ritto Interchange is around 45 minutes away by mountain roads and the Shin-Meishin Expressway. The hotel is near the Meihan Expressway, so it can work well depending on your travel needs.
