My room was immaculate, the breakfast buffet had plenty of tasty choices, and the lobby was nicely appointed. Add the view of Japan's Southern Alps and excellent service, and I couldn't have been happier.

It's an easy walk to the bar district in central Iida. The basement's large bath is men-only, which is a bit disappointing for women. There's not much parking, so if you're driving you have to leave your key at the front desk. The breakfast buffet had about three times as many options as I'd expected, and it was delicious ☺️.

Breakfast was fantastic, with a wide range of dishes that felt homemade. I felt well fed and ready for the day, and a meal like that helps me get started with work. If I'm in Iida again, I'd happily stay here for the breakfast alone.

It was below zero outside, and the air conditioning in my room had been switched off. I took a hot bath and got into bed quickly, but still caught a cold. When I asked staff for a heater or cold-weather gear, they just said they didn't have any.
