Asobiya House Iki

Such an amazing trip. I'm glad I went, it was definitely worth it!

The accommodation is pretty basic, so I can see it not working for everyone, but I had a comfortable stay and got to do something special. I cleaned the fish I caught at the outdoor sink, then cooked and ate it in the kitchen with all its cooking utensils. It made me feel completely free.

I was excited to stay at Asobiya House for the first time because I could prepare the fish I caught. The owner's messages on LINE were very polite, and he accommodated my requests. The next day he let me work on the fish in the kitchen, which helped a lot. The first night was much harder, since I had to use an outdoor platform with no electricity. I appreciated the low price and the freedom to stay as I liked, but the lack of cleaning really shocked me. The whole property seemed uncleaned. There were two big bathtubs, yet they were in such bad shape they couldn't even keep hot water, so a long soak wasn't possible. I also found myself wondering when the kitchen, utensils, and seasonings had last been cleaned. With the good reviews, it's a real shame. I wish a little more attention could go to cleaning.

For anglers, being able to prep and cook your catch in the kitchen is a dream, and this place has what you need for a longer stay on Iki Island. I came here on my first fishing trip to Iki and was glad I did. You can rent fishing gear, too, and the owner shares information about fishing spots.
