The facilities are a bit dated, but I slept really comfortably. Dinner turned out to be Chinese, which I hadn't expected, though that's my fault for not checking first. The lakeside sauna was an interesting experience. I skipped the cold plunge because there were so many ducks in the lake that I couldn't picture getting in among all that duck poop. Still, it was a good stay.

I'd driven past this place countless times and always meant to stop, so I'm glad I finally did today. The staff were friendly and helpful. My basic Western-style room was roomy enough for one, though the firm, springy bed isn't my preference. It was manageable for a single night, and the lake view in the morning was wonderful. English guides are available for almost everything in the room and around the hotel, so you needn't worry about figuring things out on your own. The Fukushima-ken residents discount was a great deal, and I hope to come back.

The group discount brought it to around 4,500 yen, and I'd like to try the sauna next time. I didn't use it this visit, but apparently it's in front of Lake Inawashiro. Other guests were having a dip in the lake instead of taking a cold bath, and it looked like a lot of fun. I was here skiing with friends, and paid 12,000 yen for two days and one night, including breakfast and dinner, shuttle service to the ski resort, and a drying room.
