Hotel Fuji Tatsugaoka

The onsen was calm, serene, and beautiful. The hotel is well located near a grocery store, restaurants, and the Pagoda. But our room was at least 100 degrees Fahrenheit when we arrived. The front desk wouldn't do anything until I said I would leave. You can't control the thermostat from each room; there's one main switch. It was 70 outside, but the heater was running full blast. The view might have been nice, but the dirt on the windows and antenna made it impossible to enjoy.

I really enjoyed the private onsen for guests, and the small hotel had views of Fuji. The room was simple, clean, and comfortable. The only problem was the heating. It kept blowing hot air and we couldn't get it to stop, even though it was quite warm outside. The staff were polite, and being able to walk to Kawaguchiko station made it easy to travel around the area.

My favorite part was the outdoor onsen, and the service was amazing. The staff were so hospitable and kind, even though we only knew a little Japanese and couldn't have a full conversation. Parking was easy, with a small lot in front and a much larger one at the side. The room was a standard Japanese hotel size, a bit smaller than I'd have liked. We got a view of Mount Fuji on the day we checked out, which brightened my day. There's a restaurant in the hotel, and the family-sized meal was enough for me and my hubby. It's about a 30-minute walk to Fuji Q, or a 10-minute drive. I didn't find many other restaurants nearby, though maybe I just wasn't looking well enough. I'd definitely come back for the kind hospitality, the view, and that wonderful onsen.

The staff were so kind and did their best to help with whatever I needed. It's near Naruto park and the train and bus stations. The onsen was a relaxing place to unwind after walking all day. This was the most rewarding experience of my life.
