The landland phone in Shiki 2 wasn’t working, though that wasn’t a big deal. We reported it, but it wasn’t fixed. Two other things could be improved: there’s no shower curtain by the bathtub, so showering splashes water around and leaves the shower room floor wet. Also, the wardrobes need more shelves, especially for a ski trip. Each room only has a small bedside table for little items, so there’s nowhere to put our belongings and clothes. Everything else was great.

The house was well equipped, with cafes and the bus stop close by. It’s an ideal place to stay outside of town in Niseko. We had a car, so it was easy to get around, and we could play in the snow right next to the house.

We were eight people for one night, and it was easy to cook since the dishes and utensils were all there. We grilled outside the garage, with Mt. Yotei right in front of us and a convenience store a short walk away. The neighborhood was peaceful, too. Having three toilets, a bathroom, and a shower room worked well for our group. Nights were cool enough that a fan did the job, though it got hot during the day. There were lots of mosquitoes, so bring insect protection 🙂↕️

The house was old and pretty run-down, which wasn't what we expected from the usual nice-looking photos. But the stay itself turned out absolutely gorgeous, and the price was excellent. Great place.
