Sports Pal

We had our one-year-old with us, and the owner was so thoughtful and kind that we felt comfortable staying there. The room was clean and spacious, and our child had a great time. Meals were generous and tasty, too. We’d planned to hike Mt. Bandai, but rain kept us from going up; at least the lift was close by. The women’s bath was comfortable, though I heard the men’s showers were unreliable, perhaps depending on the time of day.

The owner looked after us well, and even drove us to the station when we were leaving. It’s also very close to the ski resort.

We had a relaxing bath, and the building was warm while our room stayed clean. Breakfast was included and really delicious. I also had fun chatting with the owner about all kinds of things. Thanks for looking after us at the end of the year. I’d happily stay again! m(_ _)m

My room’s floor felt sticky and gross, although the shared bathroom was clean. I booked one night without meals, and the stay was difficult. At check-in, staff told me to wait, then left me there for more than 30 minutes before I had to ask again to get going. They also complained that I had too much luggage. Later, while telling another guest where the bathroom was, someone loudly banged on my room wall from the hallway and said, “It’s around here on the first floor!” It seemed they might have been a friend or regular who’d been drinking. The staff might be called friendly, but that experience didn’t feel that way.
