The only real letdown was that a few dishes were chipped or broken, and the coffee cup had tea stains inside. Paper cups and sturdier plates, perhaps aluminum, paper, or plastic, might be safer and more hygienic. Otherwise, I had a lovely, very clean stay during Golden Week. The view from the room was beautiful, and going up the stairs was such a moving moment. The kitchen had dishes and cooking tools, plus pretty glasses that really lifted my mood. It was a wonderful boathouse, almost 100 points, and I’d definitely stay again. I also saw swallows building a nest, so please look after them until they fledge 🙏🩷

For 55,000 yen a night, I can’t believe they didn’t check the shower heater before check-in. It broke, and turning on the hot water brought up an error code, so we had to boil water in the kettle and use a towel to wash. I contacted the owner as soon as we found the problem, but got no reply. I tried again and still they showed no interest in explaining what had happened. I’ve never seen a business handle something so passively. This was a terrible experience. Anyone considering it should think twice, since there are surely better options at this price.
