The sunset hour was a highlight, with complimentary drinks and snacks from 5 PM, and the view was stunning. Later, at 9 PM, there was a turn-down visit and a reminder to switch off the lights and head out to see the stars. Free morning yoga classes were available, along with live Sanshin performances on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Guests could also make bath salts to use that night. There was a gym and free self-service laundry, too. Our room had its own pool, and as Marriott members we were given a complimentary suite upgrade. It was spacious, with an all-white design that suited the island. The minibar drinks were free and could be refilled, and the bathroom products were by Byredo. Breakfast was complimentary for Marriott members, with both Japanese and Western choices. The hotel felt new, the scenery was beautiful, and it was convenient for getting to the island’s main sights. I also want to thank the very handsome Japanese front desk staff member who gave us such a thorough, professional check-in and explained the facilities in detail. I’m sorry I can’t remember his name. This may be the best hotel I’ve stayed at in Okinawa, and it left me with a perfect impression. It’s an ideal resort for a relaxing, memorable stay.

The service was fantastic, with everyone being nice and helpful. I spent two nights here in early February 2026, using a Chase Edit redemption. They should give you a welcome letter at check-in. After Naha, it was lovely to get closer to nature and unwind, even though cloudy, rainy weather meant I couldn’t star-gaze. I emailed the hotel three days ahead to arrange the complimentary airport shuttle, and we also booked a ride back to the airport when we checked in. The hotel has what looked like free laundry by the gym, though we didn’t use it. I loved making the sea salt bath sachets each evening for a soak in the room’s tub. The welcome fruit and snacks were nice, as were the sunset toast with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and light bites, and the shuttle to the beach.

There isn’t a private sandy beach. There is a small place to get to the water, but it’s mostly rocky. Even so, the stay was peaceful and felt high-quality, and I’ll definitely come back. Iraph Sui was the highlight of my whole trip to Japan. My room was huge and faced the ocean, so I woke up to an unforgettable view each morning. The activities were well organized, and morning yoga lifted my mood and got the day off to a great start. I especially liked the daily “Sunlight Delight” from 5:30 to 6:30 PM, with free-flow champagne and wine plus tasty local snacks. The weather was too cloudy for a sunset while I was there, but the live Sanshin music during that hour still made the evening feel special.

The one thing that didn’t sit right with me was the inconsistency in service. Some staff were very polite, while others were so casual they came across as a bit rude, and I couldn’t tell what kind of service the hotel wanted to offer. Still, I was very happy with my two nights in the junior suite and would recommend the hotel to anyone looking for a memorable stay on Miyakojima. I’d definitely return with my family. I’d been hoping to stay here for nearly three years, and Ms. Sato gave me great service at check-in. As a Platinum member, I asked about an upgrade and they generously moved me to a huge corner Junior Suite with a fantastic view. The view from the bathtub was especially wonderful, among the best I’ve had at any hotel. The minibar drinks were complimentary and replenished daily. They also brought dragon fruit and kiwi, and cut them for me on request without an extra charge. I’m not sure whether that was because I’m Platinum, because I was in a Junior Suite, or whether it’s offered to everyone, but the fruit was delicious. The evening drinks included alcoholic and soft options. I appreciated having non-alcoholic champagne since I’m breastfeeding my seven-month-old. The finger food was too light to fill me up, but went well with the drinks. Breakfast was better than I expected, with more attention to quality than quantity. I love stargazing, and the night sky was beautiful. I could see the stars easily while lying on a sunbed on the balcony.

The sunsets from the property were genuinely amazing, and happy hour was a great time to enjoy them. I also can’t fault the staff for accommodating our requests and booking activities. The hotel grew on me the longer we stayed, and I knew what to expect from reading the reviews. I’ve given it three stars because it was passable, though a few changes could make it great instead of average. The main thing I missed was attentive service at the pool and restaurant. Maybe there was a language barrier, but at lunch we weren’t offered anything beyond water, and staff didn’t check back very well. There was no poolside service, which I’d expect at a five-star hotel of this level, and a little music during the day could have helped the pool feel less quiet. The outdoor spaces also lacked atmosphere. Most of the furniture was folding tables and chairs, and some better styling and maintenance would have helped. The grounds and outdoor equipment weren’t in great condition, cleaning gear was left out in the open, and the furniture felt budget rather than luxurious. Facilities were sparse, with one pool and no gym. The food was passable but not up to luxury-hotel standards, especially for the high prices. My burger came with just a small handful of fries and looked pretty sad. An A&W burger meal was twenty times better at a quarter of the price. The bed was extremely hard, as I’d seen in reviews, but I hadn’t expected it to feel like sleeping on a table. At least it didn’t give me a backache. Rooms were sparsely decorated and could use a refresh, though the floor plates were large and we got upgraded to one with a good view. My rating reflects the price we paid and the fact that this is described as a Luxury Collection hotel.
