We spent three nights there last October and hope to return next fall. We kept the espresso bar staff's handwritten notes on the plastic-wrapped napkins as souvenirs. The location was handy for all kinds of places, including shops, restaurants, an ATM, shrines, and the train station. The room was large for the two of us, the bed was very comfortable, and the kitchenette came in useful. We did laundry one evening, then had breakfast and espresso or cappuccinos downstairs each morning. The staff were warm and helpful. My wife speaks Japanese, but they also knew enough English to understand me. Ofuji Restaurant is right next door, which made a great combination.

The location is great, and the room was spacious with a smart layout and a heated bathroom. For convenience and comfort, this is among the best hotels I've stayed in. Just be aware it's not full service, and only the bathroom gets daily cleaning. That wasn't a big deal for me. I took off a star over the rigid checkout policy. Checkout is listed as 10 a.m., which feels early since hotels usually allow until 11. I asked for just a 30-minute extension and was quoted 5,000 yen. That seemed far too much and showed little empathy. A shame.

The only point I can give it is that a whole family can stay here. The pillows were too soft, there were no extras, and each person was allowed only two hangers. That's crazy. I've sent a few groups of customers here, and went to meet my customers and park the car briefly. I didn't know parking there wasn't allowed. The middle-aged woman at reception came over and told me in Japanese, rudely, that I couldn't park and had to move right away. I got into the car in less than a minute, but she gave me a hateful look and again demanded that I leave immediately, even though no car was waiting for the space and there was no urgent need for it. There's a better way to handle that. Have a look at the owner's response and make up your own mind. People who can't accept a bad review and only want good ones should work hard and believe whatever AI or Instagram tells them. Good luck with the business.

We liked the relaxed feel and quiet location. The rooms were clean and roomy, and the staff were welcoming, especially the breakfast crew.
