Heart Hostel and Diner

The burgers were the standout for me, honestly the best I’ve had in Japan. The owner also made great food and drinks, and the free breakfast was a real treat. We stayed with friends for a weekend and found it quiet and clean, with a charming Americana look. It’s close to the train station, the hostel beds are a good size, and there are keyed lockers for valuables.

The owner even made us breakfast himself, and it was delicious and filling. He was also kind enough to let us leave our bags before check-in while we went to explore Ise. The hostel and diner are lovely, with simple but well-kept facilities and lockers for valuables, which made it feel especially suitable for solo travellers. We felt safe and looked after, and would stay again if we’re in the area. Also, the owner has fantastic taste in music!

The owner makes amazing burgers, so good and cheap, and the chippies were the best. Seriously, go there for dinner. We stayed two nights during a weekend road trip to Mie, and everything was clean and comfortable. The beds are huge for Japan, the aircon was great, and the bathroom was big. The owner was incredibly sweet and helpful, had lots of information in English, and asked what time we wanted breakfast. It was free, Western-style, and really yummy, toast, eggs and bacon. The bar and dining area have an American theme, with rock music always playing on the TV. Best hostel hands down ✨✨

Three minutes on foot from the station, and from there you can get anywhere. The place is spotless but still has plenty of character. The owner is an amazing person who wants to give back after travelling a lot. Breakfast and dinner were the best I’ve had at a hostel, and there was even a complimentary welcome alcoholic drink. Best place to stay in Ise.
