The main thing to watch is which side of Ise-shi Station you arrive at. From the Kintetsu north exit, it’s a short walk to Ise Pearl Pier Hotel. Coming by JR is less straightforward: the hotel is across from the main JR exit on the Geku approach side, so from the main gate you’ll need to go around the station or cross a long pedestrian bridge. It’s farther on foot than the map suggests, especially with heavy luggage, so check for a closer exit or passageway beforehand if you’re using JR. Once there, the hotel itself is very good. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well kept, a relaxing place to return to after walking around the shrines. Apart from that station-side wrinkle, I recommend it. My rating scale: five stars means I definitely want to return, four means I want to return, three is average, two means I don’t really want to return, and one means I never want to return.
