Luxury Trailers Rikyuise

The dog run was enormous and great, but the dogs kept going after the grass-cutting Roomba, so we worried about bothering other guests. It'd be better if it stayed still while people were there. There was poop in several spots, and we couldn't tell how long it had been there. The food was delicious, especially the Matsusaka beef, tekone sushi, and spiny lobster. The portions were huge, like you often get at hotels around Ise and Toba. (laughs) The staff were friendly, quick, and efficient. I wish our company had people like them! They gave us a blue insect zapper that attracts bugs and kills them with electricity. It works best placed away from the dining table. (laughs) The room was the letdown. The bathroom's cushion flooring looked moldy, the bath mat was very worn, and the lace curtains had obvious mold. I wonder if moisture gets trapped in the container house. I also wish the shower room had a curtain. Even though it was my own section, being completely visible from outside felt embarrassing.

The staff helping us at the villa were nice, and there were plenty of towels, amenities, and supplies for the dog, which was reassuring. Still, I wish they'd put more effort into the rest. It was about 250,000 yen for two nights over New Year's, and the sofas, kotatsu, rugs, and other things didn't feel "luxury" to me. I stayed for two nights starting December 31st. The name "Luxury Trailers" caught my eye, especially since this was the last stop on a trip where I'd stayed away about 50 nights in 2025. The website photos had shaped my expectations for dinner, so I was disappointed on the first night when I couldn't find any sign of the spiny lobster or abalone. They'd called the day before to confirm the food, but still got it wrong. The rice was so dried out I wondered if it had been sitting there for days. There was also poop scattered around the dog run, and I don't know how long it had been there.

In summer they had nice extras for different ages: shaved ice for the kids, draft beer for adults, and a bonfire. We had a two-year-old with us, but our room was far enough from the others that we could relax without worrying about the noise. There were more supplies than the website listed, including toothbrushes, pajamas, sauna clothes and hats, plus complimentary alcohol and water. It felt like we could enjoy the stay without bringing anything.

It was freezing on December 26th, but I got an upgrade and really enjoyed the room's open-air sauna and other facilities. The floor was quite cold, so cushions to sit on would've helped. The inn's staff were polite and friendly, making it a very pleasant stay. Thank you, Kubo-san!
