Minsyuku Yamato

The food was excellent.

I had a bit of time off and came back for another stay. I was sorry to hear that Yamato, the inn's mascot dog, had passed away. The owner had apparently been unwell for some time, but he was still so kind and helpful. I could relax in the large public bath without anyone coming in while I was soaking, and breakfast was tasty and filling. With breakfast included, the overnight price is honestly a bargain. I was glad to get a souvenir when I left, too. I hope the inn stays well and is around for years to come. I'd like to visit again. ^ ^

The room is a traditional minshuku room, with the classic firm futon, and you'll need to adjust the air conditioning yourself. Still, it was clean for this kind of lodging, and Wi-Fi was available. The family running it were friendly and their gentle, thoughtful service made the place feel reassuring. Parking is close by. I asked for a little extra food, and the ingredients were more generous than I expected for the price. The food, access, nearby convenience stores, and cost all worked well for me. It's a minshuku, so I wouldn't compare it with a hotel, but I had a good first stay in September 2025 and would definitely come back. Thank you!

What I remember most is how kind the grandmother was when she welcomed me, during my stay there about 25 years ago. I think she told me, both happily and sadly, that she had a grandchild around my age studying at a different university. After I checked out, I realized I'd accidentally taken the room key and called right away to apologize. She was cheerful and kind then, too, and I mailed the key back. The inn is conveniently close to the station for visiting Ise Grand Shrine, and I remember the food being delicious as well. Thank you very much.
