Ishigakijima Hotel Cucule

I only stayed one night and hadn't expected to write a review, but I came away really impressed. The location is great and there's a wide range of complimentary amenities. I especially liked the rentable water bottles to cut down on single-use plastic, shower rooms for guests who want to freshen up after checkout, a good breakfast buffet featuring local food, local art on the walls, and free awamori and beer. I stayed in a Japanese-style room, which felt more spacious than the standard Western type. This hotel has spoiled me for other places at this price. A solid 10/10!

The staff were attentive throughout our stay and helped us book tables at several restaurants, which was a huge help. There are lots of great places to eat nearby, the beach is within walking distance, and you can bike around the city. Such a good base for visiting ishigaki islands, and I highly recommend staying here when you visit Ishigaki.

The rooftop was a lovely place to sit and watch the sunset. Rooms were spacious and clean, and breakfast was simple but fine. The hotel is right in the centre of town, close to the port and bus station, which worked well for day trips and getting back to the airport.

Great spot for the ferry terminal, bus stop, rental cars, and restaurants. The room had a kitchen area. Breakfast choices were limited, which was a bit disappointing compared with a nearby hotel at the same price.
