There’s room for up to 10 people, so this renovated old house works well for a group. It’s right in the city center, with izakayas, malls, and convenience stores close by. You can also walk to the farmers’ market and supermarkets to pick up local ingredients and cook. The house has pretty much everything for day-to-day living: a washer, gas dryer, air conditioning, microwave, oven, fridge, cooking gear, dishes, seasonings, shower, towels, and amenities. There’s Wi-Fi if you want to work remotely with your laptop, plus parking for two bicycles and about two regular cars. The caretaker lives next door. Insects and geckos can get inside and show up around the house, so keep that in mind if they bother you.

The gas dryer was a big help, and I could relax knowing all the basics were there. Shopping is convenient too, almost within walking distance.

The dryer was fantastic after days at the beach. I could wash my clothes and have them dry right away, so I had no trouble getting dressed the next day. There’s a kitchen as well, and nearby shops and supermarkets make it easy to buy ingredients and cook. I stayed two nights on Ishigaki Island. The house is old and dated, but it was clean, well kept, and had great facilities, so I had no problems. Friendly neighborhood cats came by to say hello, and it was a quick walk to an izakaya in the downtown area. I’d happily stay here again on another trip to Ishigaki Island. Thank you!

It felt like I was living on Ishigaki Island, and I was able to settle in just like at home. They were helpful before my stay, too. I booked through Rakuten Travel for two nights. The detached house had a microwave and rice cooker, and I could cook for myself. Towels and laundry facilities were provided, and there were bicycles for exploring nearby. I only needed to bring my clothes, which made the stay really comfortable. I’d like to come back when I visit Ishigaki Island.

The kitchen gear, dishes, seasonings, washer, and dryer are all there, and there are plenty of rooms. It’s spacious, and I think you could fit 7-8 people if you squeezed in. The whole guesthouse is a relocated traditional Japanese house, so it’s not quite hotel-level, but it’s remarkably clean for an old house. If you want to feel like you’re living on Ishigaki Island, this place fits. It’s within walking distance of the island’s center, with lots of good shops nearby. Highly recommended.
