Sommelier Villa Ishigaki

We came in mid-June, just after the rainy season, and found the place clean, comfortable, and well air-conditioned. From the big windows we could see Nagura Bay, a famous sunset spot. Since the inn is in a protected area with very few lights after 9 PM, we could watch the sunset and stars from there. The 360-degree view of the starry sky was breathtaking. The large private pool was a real treat. We swam in both the sea and pool every day, and the washer-dryer made it easy to get our clothes dry. Self-catering was simple too, thanks to the cooking utensils, dishes, and refrigerator stocked with condiments. It was a wonderful place to stay, whether you’re a couple, a family with children, or a group.

We had such a fun first family trip to Ishigaki Island, staying three nights and four days. The room was spacious and beautifully furnished, with stylish touches throughout. My first king-size bed was incredibly soft, and the bathroom jacuzzi was so relaxing. Even the wine glass lights sparkled beautifully when the light hit them. The large pool right outside was nearly empty. Swimming there under the blue sky was amazing, and at night we floated while looking up at the stars. We also had a BBQ outside, with tables and chairs where we ate dinner while watching the distant sea and sunset. It tasted twice as good. There was everything we needed for daily life, from amenities and dishes to laundry detergent, a BBQ set, and a swimming ring, so we didn’t need to pack light. The sea was a clear emerald green, and the Yaeyama soba had a gentle, delicious flavor. It felt like a real escape. The sun sets much later than in Tokyo, and in the evening it can still be as bright as daytime. That slow island time let me relax and forget everyday life on my days off. I definitely want to stay here again when I return to Ishigaki Island. It was a really enjoyable trip!

The villa is about a 15-minute drive from Ishigaki Island’s downtown area, and its elevated position gives you a panoramic view of Nagura Bay. At night, since it’s in a designated scenic zone, the sky is filled with stars you’d never see in the city. There’s a large garden pool where the kids had a blast in the heated water while the adults relaxed with champagne. We stayed here on a family trip to Okinawa. There are plenty of beds for around 10 people, so it works well for close families, groups of friends, or even company trips. We definitely want to return next summer!

Watching the sunset over Nagura Bay while barbecuing beside the pool made a wonderful memory. The pool was clean, the water temperature felt just right, and there were lots of inflatable rings for us to play with. The high ceilings and many windows made the interior feel spacious, which was exciting in itself. This was my first stay here. I chose it from the several pool villas on Ishigaki Island because it has a large pool, is close to the sea, faces west, and seemed close to the airport. The amenities and facilities were all perfect, with no complaints. It was quiet in a peaceful residential area, and the stars were incredibly beautiful. I’d like to come back if I get the chance.
