Super Hotel Ishikari

The staff made a strong impression: the receptionist and buffet team cheerfully greeted us and helped call a cab each morning, and our room was tidied well every day. The receptionist was there in the morning and still around when we got back at night. The hotel is about a 20-minute drive from the Royce Chocolate factory, though getting to Teine Station cost us around 4000-5000 yen each way. We didn't drive, and it's some distance from the JR / Hakodate line. The setting felt industrial, and in late January 2025 I seemed to see more local drivers than tourists. A guest mentioned Bankei as a ski area, while our taxi driver suggested Olympia ski centre. Breakfast came as a buffet each morning, with pastries and Japanese dishes that changed daily. If you return before 8pm, there's alcohol available too. My family didn't use the onsen since we got back late most nights and went straight to bed. The heater kept us warm, and we could pick 5 toiletries a night, including hair treatment and body cream. The bathroom also had shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothbrushes, and toothpaste. Returning the toothbrush and toothpaste set earned a snack, and I loved the chocolate ones.

Coming back each night to soak my sore muscles in the hot spring bath was a treat after long days exploring. The room and bed were comfortable and set up efficiently, and the hotel was clean throughout with plenty of complimentary amenities. Breakfast had tasty, healthy options. The staff made the stay feel homey, greeting me warmly each day with a personal touch. Sapporo is a bit of a distance away, but I liked the quiet, peaceful countryside setting, and the price was great. Super Hotel Ishikari was a lovely find that was close enough to Sapporo for an enjoyable trip while still offering some calm. Thanks for making my vacation wonderful.

I stayed here in February 2024 and forgot to leave a review. The only drawback is how remote it is, but the stay itself was really comfortable. The room was good and had a nice view, and the staff were so friendly and kind. The onsen was great too, with a good temperature and depth, plus a roomy shower area before you go in.

The staff were great, breakfast was good, and the rooms were nice. They were a little bigger than what you usually get in hotels in Japan.
