The bed setup was thoughtful, with a light, outlets, and a privacy screen for each person. Our group of one adult and two kids found it suited our needs well, and we'd come back for another quick night's sleep. We only used Ikidane during an overnight layover, arriving at 2am and leaving by 9am. Three backpacks and two suitcases left us very little room to move around, though. It's a good deal for young groups looking for a simple place to stay.

The shared showers and toilets were spotless, and the air conditioning was comfortable. We stayed during a 14-hour layover at Haneda airport, and it was fantastic value. Our kids enjoyed the authentic Japanese feel, and there's a Family Mart within walking distance. You can get to the terminal by Uber or train. I'd recommend completing most of the online check-in before you arrive, so you don't have to wait around by the front door.

The main drawback was noise through the thin walls. You can hear people walking along the corridor, so guests should probably be told to keep that in mind. The other group staying near us was quiet, but we could still hear their footsteps. The capsule-style rooms were a hit with our kids, and the hotel is conveniently located for Haneda airport's terminal 3. It was clean and well maintained, although the windows could have been cleaner.

The mattress was pretty comfortable, but that's the only thing I liked. The room was so tiny we couldn't open a 24-inch suitcase, and the bedding was dusty with hair on it. There was mold on the shared bathroom amenities. Check-in was confusing, and the staff didn't communicate with us directly, just kept sending automated messages. For $200 a night, this was absolutely not worth the price, even if you call it a hostel.

Everything was super clean, and getting around was easy with the trains close by and simple to navigate. The property itself was easy to find, too, and its closeness to Haneda Airport was convenient. I had a lovely three-night stay and will definitely come back 😊
