With a 1-year-old and a 5-year-old, having meals delivered to the room was a big help. We could eat and bathe while keeping an eye on the kids without worrying about being seen. I was generally satisfied, though Obon prices were higher, which made it hard to give five stars. The food was tasty and mild enough for pretty much anyone. There were no free drinks, and you had to order drinks there. You also couldn’t have anything from a convenience store while eating, which isn’t ideal if you like a drink. Since we ate in the room and didn’t see staff after the food arrived, we couldn’t even get a refill of water. We chose the place for the in-room meals and bath and stayed over the Obon holidays. There are only three rooms, so we didn’t run into other guests. Check-in wasn’t until 4 p.m., so we killed time before heading over. The hotel is down a small path with houses nearby. Our room was spotless, and the stairs inside were carpeted throughout, which made me feel safe walking around with the baby. The walls are thin, though, and noise from other rooms carried over. The kids found it hard and sad to keep quiet.

The food was the highlight for me, especially breakfast, which was even better than I’d expected. Having meals served in the room was a big part of why I chose this place, and both breakfast and dinner were delicious and left me very satisfied. The room was clean and a decent size, and I enjoyed having a large open-air bath to myself. The poor soundproofing was the one major disappointment. The room next door seemed to be a maisonette, and the sound of children running up and down the stairs carried through the night. It echoed quite a bit and was stressful.

We could use the open-air bath whenever we wanted without having to worry about other guests, which was great with our young children. It is a little small, but having it right in the room made the stay very comfortable. The room itself was spacious too. Dinner and breakfast both tasted great and came in just the right portions. The staff were warm and helpful, even washing baby bottles for our youngest. We’d like to come again.

A maisonette with the bedroom upstairs and the bathtub outside, where smoking is allowed. There’s a diaper bin in the bathroom, which is handy if you have little kids. The room was new and clean. Meals are served in the room, and both breakfast and dinner were satisfying, not just generous in quantity. I’d recommend it to anyone who cares more about having a relaxing stay than getting a great view.

The staff were courteous and kind, and they were a big help with our 7-month-old. They provided a high chair and lent us a futon for him to lie on. The food was delicious, and as people say, the apple pie was great. I even ordered it again at breakfast. I’d like to stay here again.
