Hinodeya Ryokan

The host is wonderful and always ready to help, including with a ride when you need one. The private onsen is great, and you can reserve it for a time that suits you. Jogasaki Coast and Mt. Omuro are nearby. A wonderful ryokan, highly recommended! I’ll definitely come back next time I’m in Izu.

The owner gave me a warm welcome and showed me around all the facilities when I arrived. I stayed two nights, and the place was incredible: the rooms were meticulously clean, the private onsen was relaxing, and the open lounge had books, a piano, and a self-serve cafe. Izu Kogen Station is only about a 10-minute walk away, but the owner still offered rides there and back. He also drove me to the local zoo, which would have taken an hour to reach by bus. It’s a warm, homey place for a traditional Japanese experience, and I’m looking forward to visiting again.

This was our first ryokan stay, and we had a fantastic two nights. The owner went out of his way to drive us to nearby places, which saved us a lot of hassle. It’s conveniently located near Mt. Omuro and local shops and restaurants, so we could see what the area had to offer. The rooms are classic Japanese style with tatami, and both they and the bath area were spotless. There are two bath areas, one large enough for up to five people and another smaller one. You can choose traditional breakfast and dinner if you want the full experience. We heard some traffic from passing cars, but it stopped around 10 p.m. and the area got very quiet. Great value for the price. We’ll definitely be back!

The owners were kind enough to drive us to a nearby suspension bridge, which I’d definitely recommend, and back to the station with our luggage. We loved the classic tatami room and the two lovely little private onsen rooms. A great choice for travelers hoping to see the Kawazu cherry blossoms or visit Izu zoo too!
