I was glad I booked two nights. Mt. Omuro was right in front of me, and the view was great. The Ito natural spring water bath felt cool but soft on my skin, and the breeze was refreshing. At night I watched a movie on the projector while soaking in the hot spring. It's a rental villa that one person can use, too. It was summer, so I worried about bugs, but they weren't too bad. I found some kind of mosquito repellent outside, though I think it would be good to have some on hand. The kitchen had aluminum foil but no plastic wrap. There was all the tableware, but the frying pans and pots weren't Teflon, which is unusual these days. The appliances were high quality, so that was a bit disappointing. That's why I took off one star. Aside from those things, it was great, and I'd use the other facilities if I get the chance.
We were very happy with the cabin-style sauna and the two tubs, one cold and one hot spring. In the morning, birdsong, including nightingales, was lovely to wake up to. The veranda was great for spending time outside, and although it was windy at times, the weather was good. Mount Omuro looked superb from there. The interior was clean, easy to use, and thoughtfully arranged for guests. We had a wonderful 2-night, 3-day stay. The only little thing I'd add is small plates for sashimi, preferably white. We liked the place a lot and will definitely come back soon.
We came back saying we'd like to visit at least once every year, and next time we'd like to try a different room. It was a great place for our girls' get-together, and the terrace view was spectacular. The autumn leaves were beautiful, and sunset and early morning views were soothing. The room was very clean, with excellent furniture and appliances. Underfloor heating was a lifesaver for me since I get cold easily. The open-air bath and sauna were fantastic. The adults and children all loved it, and everyone was pleased. With small kids, it was easy to relax without worrying about disturbing anyone. Thanks so much.
The upstairs bedroom let each of our three families sleep separately, and downstairs there were two single beds, which worked well for our group of ten. The kids really enjoyed watching YouTube and other videos on the projector's big screen. There were only three adults, but the kitchen was roomy and had all the appliances we needed, so cooking was easy. We'd like to try the other facilities in the future. It gave us a lovely memory, thank you. The place was very clean, with a spacious veranda and a fantastic sauna. Two or three adults could fit in the sauna, and there were two tubs so we could get into the cold plunge right away. There was also a shower, which sauna fans will appreciate.
There were seven beds in the spacious room, plus both a projector and a TV. The stylish furniture was clean, and all of it was Balmuda. Three of us could work side by side comfortably in the roomy kitchen. Even the salt and pepper shakers dispensed with a button, which was so handy. There was a drum-style washer, a big bathroom, and a sink with lights around the mirror that worked well for makeup. I didn't know how to use the sauna and poured too much water on the stones at first. It turned into a seriously hot sauna, so be careful. Clear instructions with pictures would help. The open-air bath was amazing, with hot spring water straight from the tap. The house is big enough that it's easy to leave things behind, so I recommend keeping your luggage together instead of spreading it around. In the morning, we could hear birds singing, and the view was lovely. Thanks for the great space, BBQ area included.
