After dinner, we had a lovely time playing with the cats, and the owners did a lot to make it enjoyable. The family bath can be reserved, and both the indoor and outdoor baths were fantastic. There are two massage chairs we could use together after bathing, which felt so refreshing. The rooms may be a little dated, but they’re clean and well maintained. My future wife and I stayed here during our trip to the Izu Peninsula. I’d picked this small hotel because it had cats I hoped to play with, but the whole stay turned out to be a great experience. The owners were so warm and kind. Honestly, I think they were even cuter than the cats, haha. Dinner and breakfast were delicious, with lots of variety at breakfast. The golden eye bream (golden eye bream) soy sauce stew was especially good. After watching "Black and White Chef," I’d been craving Japanese simmered food, and this reminded me how delicious it is. The hamburger steak and homemade pudding were also great. I’ve tried all sorts of food while living in Japan, but I really loved what they served here. At checkout, we took a commemorative photo with the cats and got a farewell party, so I left with lovely memories. I’ll definitely come back.

Dinner started at 6:30, and that was cat time, so bathing before dinner worked perfectly for us. The food came out in stages while hot, and it was all delicious. Even the little accessories had cat designs, which I loved! I came because I love cats. The road was a bit narrow, but we got there safely. Baths were first come, first served, with tags showing the room reservation numbers. We checked in at 4:00, so I think our bath slot was 4:50 to 5:40. The water was just right for me. The outdoor bath was a little warmer than the indoor one, and going back and forth felt great. Afterward we loosened up our stiff muscles on the free massage machine, which felt wonderful. Breakfast was delicious too. I was surprised by how huge the miso soup was, but it tasted so good I finished it all in one go! The cat saw us off when we left and let us hold it. So cute. It was a relaxing two days. The cookies in our room were delicious too, thank you.

I booked after reading the reviews and was really pleased. The room was spacious and very clean, and the large private bath was so comfortable. Everything we ate was delicious, and I ended up eating too much. The cats were adorable, the owner was lovely, and the whole place felt surprisingly warm and welcoming. The cookies were great too. I’ll definitely visit again.

We booked for our couple’s anniversary, hoping to find somewhere memorable, and had a wonderful day. I wanted to leave this review as a thank you. The inn feels less like a hotel and more like staying with a relative or friend. Its resident cats are carefree and adorable, and clearly talented too, even without having to show off to earn treats, lol. At just the right moments they’ll curl up like stuffed animals, quietly let you hold them, and show the affection their owners have given them. The drawings, photos, and stories about the cats who have passed away were touching as well. The meals used local ingredients and Izu specialties, and were delicious. Even the generous breakfast left us full in body and heart. The name Fromage was apparently chosen because it sounded nice, not because the inn is known for cheese, lol. The platter of three desserts and the souvenir cookies were handmade. I imagine there’s a lot of work behind the scenes, so please take care of yourselves. I hope to see Candy, Myu, Yuki, and Haku again.

Amazing! One night just wasn’t enough... 🥺 I hope this year is a great one for the cats and their owners 💖🫶🏻
