Shizenya. Haco

The meals were a highlight, especially the fresh sashimi and the local Shizuoka ingredients. We grated our own wasabi, and they brought dessert on a commemorative plate, which made a lovely keepsake. For our wedding anniversary, the attentive service was much appreciated, and with only five couples accommodated each day, it felt very personal. Our room had an open-air hot spring bath where we could unwind and look out toward the ocean, and we could use it whenever we wanted. We thought about having breakfast on the terrace, but the chairs were too low, so we skipped it. Higher seats, maybe counter chairs, would have worked better.

The room was clean and comfortable, but the meals were disappointing given that I’d booked the maternity plan. Dinner started with sashimi and a prosciutto salad, neither of which I could eat. At breakfast they served a soft-boiled egg, too. The only after-meal drink choice at both meals was tea or coffee. I understand that might be expected without a maternity plan, but I’d booked one.

I spent most of my birthday stay in the room, where meals were served. I didn’t run into other guests until checkout, so it was easy to relax. The elaborate meals and the bath overlooking the ocean were both fantastic. The staff were incredibly hospitable, and their service felt warm and heartfelt. You can hear some noise from the hallway and other areas, as other reviews mention, which might bother some people. I’d highly recommend the inn for a quiet break with someone you love or an anniversary.

The photos they thoughtfully took and the message plates really touched me. The room, food, views, and service were all amazing, and the place felt warm and welcoming. It’s an inn that makes me want to come back. Thank you so much!
